In a bun dance

If I'm going to get something, I usually get it in spades - luck (both kinds), children, clutter, dirty laundry, bright ideas, daft ideas...

Looking again at New Look

February 9, 2013 By Ellen 2 Comments

New Look then… for the young and skinny only.

The last time I was in New Look I was buying maternity clothes and the assistant asked if they were for me – they were. But the suggestion was clearly that I might just as well be buying them as part of grandmotherly duties. I haven’t been back since.

But today I had a gander and found myself surprised.

This tunic, for instance, has that trendy side colour thing but is still grown up enough.

And looking to the footwear, rather predictably, I found, rather unpredictably an extensive wide fit section including wide fit wellies.

How about this jumper with a neat shaped hem at the bottom. I could see this getting worn again and again.

Elsewhere I found this peplum top – which is flattering rather than appearing like a not-very-good tutu. I’d wear that to a meeting with narrow trousers. Excellent.

And, of course, the scarf tied at a jaunty angle – the work at home woman’s signal that she has Made An Effort. This one would be perfect.

Tying it all together – not the wellies though, that’d be daft – would be a smart blazer. Oh yes. Blazers are the way ahead this season, apparently.

This post has been brought to you by New Look, but that doesn’t stop it being worth a look. In fact, I’m just off for a wee peruse. NB: All the styles I chose are in my real woman sizes.
