In a bun dance

If I'm going to get something, I usually get it in spades - luck (both kinds), children, clutter, dirty laundry, bright ideas, daft ideas...

Review: Little Grippers sports socks

February 10, 2014 By Ellen Leave a Comment

At last another solution…. football socks that stay up.

Weeks and weeks ago, just before Boy Two’s football team took their long winter training break, we were sent a pair of Little Grippers sports socks to try out.

In our neck of the woods, children’s football must be played wearing shin pads. I’m sure there’s good reason for it, but, I’m told, the main feature of shin pads is that they are either uncomfortable or inclined o fall down, or both.

This is the stay-put technology bit
So boy Two was very keen to try out a pair of socks that would solve this problem.

According to the blurb the socks use stay-on technology to stay put as long as you need them to.

They also have “everything you would expect from a truly technical sports sock”, including ankle support, micro venting, foot support, flat toe seam, padded sole and contour fit.

The contours and the bobbles at the heel from a couple of wears.
They come in white, black, navy, red or royal blue and cost £9 a pair. They come in various shoe sizes up to adult size 11 – so not just for kids then.

Boy Two reported that the “stay-on technology” at the top meant they were slightly more of a wrestle than his normal socks to put on.

However, he also informed me that “they stayed up” so for socks that do what they say on the tin get Little Grippers sports socks.
