Spring is here at last! It’s been a long Winter, hasn’t it? We might not have suffered from the same extreme weather conditions as last year, but Spring is still very welcome! The dark nights and gloomy days of Winter really seem to take their toll after the festive period, and you might you’re your eye cream having to work twice as hard to battle those tired eyes – you can see a Vogue review of eye creams here – There’s nothing like the fresh start that is the Springtime to really boost your mood – some might say it makes parenting a little bit easier…but we’ll let you be the judge of that!
So, with that in mind, here you’ll find 5 wonderful things all parents can look forward to this Spring!
No more dark starts
You know what it’s like. You’re struggling with a lack of sleep yourself and you have to try to convince the kids that – even though it’s pitch black outside – it’s definitely time they got up for school. Getting up at 6am in the winter can be depressing and instantly put you in a bad mood for the rest of the day. But when Spring arrives, the sound of little birds chirruping, the pale dawn light breaking through your curtains and slowly lighting your bedroom – it’s a much nicer wake-up call than your phone alarm…bring on the day!
Bye-bye bugs, goodbye germs!
It’s a fact that in the Springtime, there are fewer germs, fewer colds and coughs, and not as many stomach bugs to contend with. Which is a blessing in so many ways: no kids off school so you don’t have to worry about childcare, you don’t run the risk of catching it yourself and everyone is just happier and healthier! As the warmer weather kills all these horrible germs off, we can finally say goodbye to boxes of tissues and the thermometer (for a little while anyway). In the Springtime, you can throw open those windows and fill your home with fresh air at last!
Easier potty training
Trust me. We all know how difficult it is when your little one says they need to go and you’re having to contend with layers and layers of clothing before they have an accident. As the weather gets warmer, the kids can wear fewer layers which means potty training is much easier than before!
And because your children aren’t wearing as many layers – there’s not as much to wash! You can also get through the loads you have much quicker because you can stick them outside to dry in the Spring sunshine. Excellent.
More outdoor play
When bad weather hits, its not easy keeping the kids entertained indoors all day. And many indoor play areas are usually fit to burst. So, as the days get warmer and drier, you can send the kids out into the garden to play, or finally,
head to the park!
It’s been a long Winter – so enjoy your Spring!
