Dudley – 104 words

February 16, 2022 By Ellen

Dudley – Yesterday, quite nice really for the time of year – slanting sun between the finely flung raindrops. Today, Dudley. Not a name to fear, to quake at, a rustling in the branches, trees untidy with twigs. But there’s a weather warning, the usual ‘don’t forget your coat’ kind of warning, the kind of warning we managed perfectly well without back we had real winters. Then, oh. Wait a minute. I can hear the wind howling through the shrubs and the warning has changed colour. Look out “Strong and potentially disruptive” Dudley is on his way. If you need me, I’ll be battening metaphorical hatches.
