In a bun dance

If I'm going to get something, I usually get it in spades - luck (both kinds), children, clutter, dirty laundry, bright ideas, daft ideas...

Flowers, for me? 100 words

February 21, 2023 By Ellen

Flowers, for me?

Oh, how lovely, I’ll get a vase

Optimistic tulips on juicy stalks

Peach-skin roses and irises with perky up-dos

One-eyed narcissi and peony pompoms

Don’t forget to change the water

Well-behaved calendula and

carnations calling for clean white linen

Kindly stocks play an overture

Oh, how lovely! They’re lasting well

Painstaking tissue layered ranunculus

And lilies always ambitious4

Busy lilac, rag-rug cosmos, sweetpeas running wild

Eucalyptus, baby’s breath, periwinkle, hebe

Is that pollen on the table?

Sunflower heavy heads and what’s-all-the-fuss-about orchids

Inside-out anemone and rather rude anthurim

Wilting, drooping, turning slightly brown

Oh, how lovely! Bouquet’s time is up
