In a bun dance

If I'm going to get something, I usually get it in spades - luck (both kinds), children, clutter, dirty laundry, bright ideas, daft ideas...

Library lust – 100 words

February 24, 2023 By Ellen

Library lust

When you yearn, the only thing to do

is find a book –

a neatly-bound portal –

that you can open

and dive into.

Leaping, not looking

to breath in your longing

and gaze at things you lack

like vitamins in your famine.

Pale, starving,

it’s time to

turn the pages,

and turn,

until you fill up your hollows.

Dance under stars

let scents swirl

stretch under a turning fan

and walk familiar streets,

hand in hand.

For a while the wanting retreats

to sit in the shadows

until you reach ‘The End’

and find yourself back where you started.
