A man makes his living from pretending to be someone else
Lots of someone elses
Impossible to tell if he’s any good because all the someone elses are alike
A type, perhaps
He’s popular, though
Probably swagger, cheekbone angles, an insouciance sewn onto a leather waistcoat
Not many men could carry that off
Then there was that court case, or two
Did he or didn’t he?
Someone, even a professional pretender, with that smile, couldn’t possibly
And, if he did, she made him, they said
Still hard to see why his shopping trip consumed a fat chunk of today’s airtime.
