In a bun dance

If I'm going to get something, I usually get it in spades - luck (both kinds), children, clutter, dirty laundry, bright ideas, daft ideas...

Tupperware – 100 words

March 17, 2023 By Ellen Leave a Comment

Tupperware

Immaculate and grown up.

It starts as a solution.

Cordoned off leftovers, egg and cress clicked for freshness.

Matryoshka, BPA-free,

a regiment of storage in a roomy billet

moving up, always room for one more.

Squares, rectangles, circular ones for cakes,

clever closure tabs,

Until the drawer pings open.

More and more.

Tubs washed clean of curry with tops fitting firm.

Keep it just in case.

Where’s the bloody lid?

Nothing flipping fits!

Stop. Get them all out, sort the sets, dump the orphans.

Satisfaction.

Order, space and exactly the receptacle for those extra carrots,

but it never lasts long…
