216/365 An important lesson about swans

August 4, 2013 By Ellen

Boy Three and I broke up a very dull domestic chore Sunday by going to Castle Semple at Lochwinnoch to feed the birds.

It was all going swimmingly until Boy Three took a little too long to fling his fistful of crumbs to the greedy swans.

“Ow ow ow, it bited me. I was feeding it and it bited me.”

Today’s lesson: Don’t hang about when there’s a pack of hungry swans around. And don’t trust gracious good looks to behave graciously.

You’ll have much more fun flinging crumbs upwards for the flying diners to pluck out of the air.
