I do realise that today’s image isn’t a photo – however, it best sums up today big new thing. I am new – as well as all the other things I still am – Greenock and District Scouts Media Development Manager!
Get me. Well, yes. Although I realise that there’s probably a bit more getting to grips with the role than I had first allowed myself to admit.
However, I’m a huge fan of the Scouts and my older Boys have both got great benefit from the movement and I expect their little brother will don the uniform when his time comes. And as these organisations only thrive and work for our kids if we adults do our bit too, it was my time to step up. Given my inability to put tents up, this is a far better use of my energies.
I’m also learning that there’s a huge training and development structure for the adults who volunteer with Scouts – so they get something out too. Plus, apparently, I’ll be allowed to wear a uniform…
Anyhow, on my travels through the world of Scout I found this video – and it’s Lego Cubs round the camp fire.
