If I'm going to get something, I usually get it in spades - luck (both kinds), children, clutter, dirty laundry, bright ideas, daft ideas...

The Best Ways to Celebrate Freedom

March 28, 2020 By Ellen

If you’ve ever been cooped up in your house for a long time, whether due to illness, bad weather or circumstances outside your control, you’ll know that before long your thoughts start to turn to all the plans you want to make for after you’re able to leave again.

Your first trips outside again should be a celebration; a joyful occasion to see friends again, have an amazing time, and enjoy all the things you haven’t been able to for a while. Here are some fabulous ideas for those occasions, that raise the bar much higher than just going to the pub!

A brilliant way to treat yourself is to get a meal at a fancy mexican restaurant. You could go with your partner, or family, or a group of close friends, and spend the time enjoying each other’s company whilst eating fantastic (and not home-cooked!) food.

You could also consider a fun – if ridiculous – activity such as going to an indoor trampoline park, or ice-skating, or even an indoor climbing wall. Don’t feel limited by convention; have the most fun you possibly can, be silly, and treasure the time with your friends and family. These activities are brilliant exercise, and far more interesting than simply meeting, sitting down and chatting.

Another great option is to buy tickets for a night at the theatre. The ultimate communal experience, you can lose yourself in a magical story, a political drama, or a laugh-out-loud comedy. There are so many options for great shows – and if you’re struggling to pick one, you can use the infographic below. It will help narrow it down, and even suggest an option based on your answers!
