Courchevel is the ultimate winter destination for all skiing enthusiasts. The five villages of Courchevel
Courchevel is located in France, in the heart of the Alps. It is part of the ‘Les Trois Vallees’ ski resort (the three Valleys), the tallest ski resort in Europe. Courchevel has five villages connected by a single road that goes from the lowest to the highest. Across the road some lifts and slopes connect the villages. Each village is ideal for a specific type of activity.
The first village we meet is Courchevel Le Praz at an altitude of 1300 meters. This is the lowest village in the area with the rustic charm of the old. The village’s landmark is the hill for ski jumping built for the 1992 Olympic Games and is still used today during both the winter and summer months. From the village, you can climb many slopes and slopes with a fast chairlift.
Second comes La Tania Courchevel at 1350 meters altitude. Ideal for families, La Tania, was also built for the needs of the Olympic Games. It is the lowest built resort in France full of wooden, charming buildings and it is the one with the least traffic. Courchevel Village at 1550 meters is next in line. There you will find a mix of small chalets as well as larger buildings – hotels. At Courchevel Village, you will find very affordable options for your stay in a relatively quiet area.
It is connected to Courchevel (1850) – the tallest and most famous village – by a very fast lift. You can enjoy unlimited rides with this impressive lift, taking out a ski pass for your travels. Next is the Courchevel Moriond at an altitude of 1650 meters. It is located on the main road, but the traffic is not annoying. This village is ideal for young people as it offers vibrant nightlife.
In the centre of the village begins the main base of the lift to the slopes. Around the beautiful square, there are many shops, restaurants and bars. A large water sports centre Aquamotion is located in the village and has been operating since 2015. There you will find indoor and outdoor pools as well as a diving pool. It has 2 supermarkets and an excellent boulangerie.
The last village is Courchevel, with an altitude of 1850 meters. It is the largest and most tourist village in the area and to get there, you will need to cover enough road. At Courchevel, you will find the most luxurious and expensive hotels, chalets and restaurants. It is the most charming and bright village that the rich visitors of the area usually visit.
There is the main junction of the lift with closed compartments from the centre of the village and directions to 3 different points. At the Courchevel 1850 Hotel, there are spa facilities with a gym, sauna and steam room which you can access for a fee even if you do not stay at the hotel.
