Overthinking
I have a small head,
which is surprising when you consider
how much thinking goes on in it.
If brains were like biceps,
I’d need a coracle for a hat.
Not an oracle, though that might be more allegorical.
When I need to know the answer –
the right answer –
instead of the infinite, contradictory,
nearly-there-but-not-quite answers
that dance a frenzy of pick me, pick me, pick me.
There’s don’t bother, it’s rubbish.
of course, you can
of course, you can’t
try harder
take it easy
Google it, bin it
Learn, feel, love, hate
but, really, you’re too late.
