Specificity – 100 words

March 28, 2023 By Ellen

Specificity

Findus crispy pancakes served with peas and you’re supper after school, Grange Hill on the telly.

Armani glasses anchoring expensively streaked hair, heels with red soles, you know the ones.

The clunk of a BMW boot, a Luger, a Rolex, a certain kind jacket.

Like a magic portal, a Doors LP deposits you in a student room, brings patchouli air and that peppery green something else. Jim Morrison’s doing the descriptive work.

A cot, a Johnson’s product smell and a bookshelf – put Gina Ford there, Penelope Leach or Dr Benjamin Spock and you’ll know which generation is rocking the cradle.
