Mosaic me
all the places I have been
and everything I have seen
all of the kisses
especially the ones I chose to forget
every surprise success
even when no one else saw me
each mouthful of cheese
the body blows and narrow escapes
every song I met and made my friend
when I got to the top of each hill and suddenly
I could see
the whole of the thrilling beautiful world below
all the heavy tears I didn’t cry
belly laughs on rainy days
babies’ fat feet flexing
an unexpected smile with a stranger
everything I ever loved, however briefly
