What is a birthday?
An excuse:
for cake, for wine, for pleasing yourself.
Wear a big badge and a bigger grin.
It’s your day – what will you do with it?
A reason to celebrate – or a milestone on the way to the end,
jelly and indignities on the way to the finish line?
Remember when you held ‘it’s my birthday’ in a secret hug.
Special person: special day
with surprising surprises tied up with ribbon.
Of course, it’s up to you now:
