If you’re walking around exhausted every day and feeling like you are walking with your head in the clouds it’s probably because you’re not getting enough. Sleep allows you to function properly and when you’re not getting enough of it, it won’t be long before your body starts rebelling against you.
This rebellion can be overwhelming, to say the least. You will feel as if your body starts collapsing while you’re standing. If you’re facing this problem the only way to handle it is to start getting better at having a good night’s sleep.
Get a Good Mattress
The foundation of a good night’s rest is having a good mattress. The last thing you want is to feel like the girl in the story of The Princess and the Pea. While one small dried may not be enough to disturb your sleep, several coils in your mattress will.
Always select a mattress that is right for your needs. Bear in mind that the way you sleep can severely impact the amount of rest you get. The mattress that you choose should support your sleep style.
If you don’t know how you sleep, you should probably record yourself sleeping all night, so that you can see all the different moves you make throughout the night. It’s not too hard to find out exactly what type of mattress you should be looking for based on sleep position.
Prepare Your Bedroom
An important part of getting good sleep is preparing your bedroom. Make sure that it is the right temperature so you don’t feel as if you’re burning up in a desert or dealing with an iceberg on the North Pole. You need to strike a balance.
Try to turn off your TV when you are about to get to bed. Better yet if you can avoid putting a TV in your bedroom then go ahead and do so. Banishing blue light from your bedroom in as many places as possible is the best way to get a good night’s sleep.
Keep a Schedule
As with anything in life you have to be organized and keep a schedule if you want to get the best results. Being haphazard about when and how you sleep is a surefire way to ensure that you will fall asleep anywhere your body collapses. It is that serious!
When your body is overly tired it will put you to sleep. This can create some very dangerous situations that you want to avoid.
Watch Your Foods
There are certain foods and drinks that you should not eat or drink around bedtime. You will give your stomach too much work to do right before bed.
The work that your stomach is doing could keep you up and prevent you from enjoying a good night’s sleep.
If you must drink something, try water, warm milk, chamomile tea or CBD. These are always very good for calming your nerves and getting you in the mood for visiting dreamland.
