Medalling in kindness

August 4, 2024 By Ellen

I could forgive the verbifying of ‘medal’ if the clamber up the podium was to receive a prize for kindness. A triathlon for big-hearted, not the fainthearted – training is tough. Compassion not rescuing, empathy not pity, and thoughtfulness not judgement. Bootcamps to be better – leave your ego at the door. Vulnerability for victory, learning to listen like champs. A story: your early talent, your privilege, county team position, your passion, district caring contests – national, global. Retain focus through lectures on life’s tricky contradictions. Find similarities in difference. Him, her, they – all striving, suffering, reaching for the same stars.
