In a bun dance

If I'm going to get something, I usually get it in spades - luck (both kinds), children, clutter, dirty laundry, bright ideas, daft ideas...

Layers – 100 words

June 4, 2023 By Ellen

Layers

Lasagne, remote from Italy,

but I don’t mind

sometimes I soak pasta so it scissors

for neater layers,

sometimes I forget, then it snaps

hidden veg gets blended,

then fried with pancetta,

or not, if I forgot,

if I’m healthy, I drop mopped fat, plop in the bin

(septic tanks don’t stomach it well)

if not, I add flour for richer sauciness,

then tomato, unblitzed veg, red red wine,

proper stock, if I’ve got, and fresh pepper

(ground from a hight: just because),

any old mousetrap –

or pecorino, who cares?

Triangulate pasta, mince, cheese,

pasta, mince, cheese

pasta, mince, cheese
